Finger Lakes secret free ride spot.

Just Back from a amazing weekend shooting a crew of free riders in upstate NY.

Guys,

Our second weekend dedicated to film and photography was another huge success!! Both weekends have done exactly what I wanted them to do: To professionally film and photograph the essence of The Land in case the logging process permanently damages the trails and stunts. Six years of building of world-class freeride trails needed to be captured on film forever. I couldn't have asked for anything better in terms of weather, riders, and the film and photo talent!

Weather on Saturday was almost perfect. I shuttled riders to the top for 8 hours using my 4Runner and Josh's hand built bike rack. We've never done so much lift assisted riding in a day! Besides a few runs where it was too sunny, the chest mounted HD GoPro captured run after run on Trailway to Heaven, with trains of 3 riders in the ideal diffused light. After a long day, we had pizza in Penn Yan and we got to watch a light show on our way back. Incredible storms lit up the sky with flashes of lightning every second and eventually made their way to The Land. Sunday was too wet to ride, everyone left in the morning, and more heavy rains returned in the afternoon.

Thanks to riders Josh Gee and Larry Sereduck for driving from CT and RI to ride The Land. Both are great riders with easy going personalities and funny stories to keep you laughing. Their riding style helped inspire Chris Frey step it up...who's never been riding better.

Thanks as always to Denver Miller for capturing more awesome video! He's now got a solid treasure trove of material to work with to create a longer and more impressive film that will really do justice to The Land.

Thanks to Aaron Warkov for making the trek from Brooklyn and taking some stunning images! It was a last minute rush to put it all together, but it happened. Go to his site, click on IMAGES, and check out the gallery at the bottom right. You're going to be stunned:

Loggers should return this week and I'll reassess the property situation after they're done. At the bare minimum I'd like to preserve Trailway to Heaven, resurrect and improve Facebone, and build out the rest of Boomerang as a warm up trail. We'll see what happens...

THANKS AGAIN IMMENSELY TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED, RODE, AND DONATED THEIR TIME AND SKILLS TO THESE 2 WEEKEND EVENTS!!!
